Oliver fought through a difficult weekend in Denmark that started with a fire in Free Practice, that saw him lead the final, but then finally ending 5th after the car stopped coming in to the final lap. It was far from a perfect weekend, but Oliver is still joint with Bryntesson at the top of the RallyX Nordic Championship, and so after all the issues experienced it is still a positive weekend overall.

"Obviously we came to Denmark hoping for a much better result, however after the issues we faced I have to look back and be happy to take home some good points. The weekend reminded me a bit of the first event of the year - where the pace was good but everything seemed to be against me! Traffic or car issues held me back a little bit and didn't let me get the result I think we perhaps deserved," Oliver said on Tuesday.

"It all started with a fire in Free Practice which was a bit scary, mainly because with all the racing in one day I was worried we might not be able to get the car out for qualifying. However my team - as always - did an amazing job. This weekend was a really tough one for the whole team, but they were fantastic and I have them to thank for making any result possible!

From there the pace was good, and after getting through qualifying in P3 it was great to win the semi-final after a tough battle with Bryntesson on the last lap. Unfortunately the stewards didn't like my overtake and so after a 5 second penalty it meant I started the final from the second row. However after a very eventful race I found myself leading with a couple of laps to go... but then the car slowed and I dropped back to 5th. A bit of a rollercoaster, but now the fight is just even tighter going into the final 2 events of the season!"

The penultimate race of the season is at legendary Kouvola, Finland, on 25/26 August.
