Monster Energy driver Oliver Solberg backed up his WRC2 season-opening Rally Sweden win with second place at Safari Rally Kenya, fighting back after a pair of punctures on Friday.

Oliver Solberg thrilled fans, winning stage after stage on the Roger Albert Clark Rally and building a lead of more than five minutes. Sadly mechanical issues ended the rally early.

Oliver Solberg retired from the Acropolis Rally after fuel-related issues which started as early as SS2 couldn’t be fixed aboard his Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Oliver celebrated a home victory, stamping his authority on the rally and making the Swedish roads his own. He and co-driver Elliott Edmondson won by 22.5 seconds. 

Oliver emerged from one of the most difficult rounds of the WRC in years – this week’s Rally Italia Sardegna – with plenty of experience and more fastest times than any other driver.
