Lots to be happy about at RallyX Nordic opener

Sixteen-year-old Oliver Solberg made an impressive start to his RallyX Nordic season at Höljes, finishing the final in fourth place aboard his PSRX-run DS 3 Supercar.

With his 600bhp machine resplendent in its all-new Circle K livery, Oliver missed out on the flying start to the season he’d been hoping for – but was delighted with the points and experience he picked up at the first of six RallyX Nordic rounds.

“It was quite a tough weekend at times,” said Oliver. “We had some issues with the transmission on the car, but we came through them to make the semi-final and the final.

“In the final, there was a small incident at the first corner, nothing major, but it caught the steering at the wrong angle and cracked a steering arm. We took fourth, which is OK – it’s never nice to just miss out on a podium like that.

“I’m happy with the experience we have taken from this race, I’ve learned a lot more about the car and the conditions and the set-up and that’s all such valuable data for me. When everything was running well, I think we showed some good speed as well – that was great. And we have points on the table from round one, that’s really important.

“But I really wanted to give Circle K something to celebrate straight away – now we have to wait until round two at Arvika next month. I can’t believe it’s so long away – that’s the problem when you drive this car, you want to be in it and racing every day now.

“The one thing I really want to say is a very big thank you to Circle K, having them onboard with us has made such a massive difference to my season. And, of course, I want to thank my family, my mum and dad and my bigger PSRX family – there was a lot of work to do with the car this weekend, but as usual, they were just fantastic!”
